As I am trying to use Plex for myself I wanted to share it with the family. Plex is a service that allows me to upload movies and tv shows from a physical disc to a private server. Also allowing me to share with family.
This page will have all the information you need to get started, and will grow as we use it. Since I do not have a lot of experience with the program we will be learning together.
Before Getting Started:
Basic Information:
Many @mckinlayfamily.com emails already have a Plex account setup and waiting to go. Plex has been a great service thus far and no plans to change. There are already more than 700 movies uploaded (as of Sunday 21 August 2022) to the service with more getting every week!
TV Shows are a little harder to do and have been a low priority. After completing the first round of uploads, approximately 1,700 movies (estimated completion Late December 2022), I will be movie through everyone who want to add movies to the collection.
Costs:
Plex does require a $4.99 charge to use their service while not on a specific WIFI Network. This is a one time charge and will give you access to view all of the content uploaded. I, MaliKai, do not see a single cent of that charge, I have, and continue to, put my own money towards this for myself and wanted to share with you guys.
Plex does offer many services that just view content I upload, if you want to learn more about it and the costs to make your own server to share with your friends please let me know I'll be more than happy to share what I learned.

Getting Signed-In & Pinning:
Download the app from your phone app store.
Sign in, 'Continue With Email'
Every @mckinlayfamily.com email with an associated account will receive an email from support@mckinlayfamily.com with the password on the account.
After getting signed in you'll be asked what subscription services you have. This step is not required but can be helpful for your viewing experience.
You'll be asked your 'sources', make sure to select Movie, and select TV
This step is often not needed and could not be replicated for a photo
Make sure to set up your pinned items. The next few images will show the best layout to make sure no one gets confused.
Select the green and deselect the red.
If yours looks like this please wait for your device to connect the server. If this continues try refreshing the app and waiting a few minutes. Should the problem persists please contact our support email below.
And just like that, you're done. Plex does often have you do these steps with every new device sign-in.
